I looked impatiently out my office window at the blue sky and the white passing clouds wanting nothing more than be outside in the sunshine. I tried not to pay too much attention to the clock that was taking forever to hit 6. The time when I would be out on the river with my camera adventuring with an awesome couple.
Troy and Danielle were one of my incredible adventure session models. You can find out more about adventure sessions on the previous blog here.
Troy and Danielle spend a lot of time in the summers on Troy’s family boat so it provided a perfect setting for their photos. We spent a stunning Tuesday night on the St. Croix, and had the river all to ourselves. Not too many people take advantage of the water during the week when too many other things are taking up to-do lists and competing for time.
Troy drove the boat to Kinney- a gorgeous beach that’s equivalent to a summer home for boaters. It’s the beach where my family met Troy’s family at least 20 years ago now. We had a whole group of friends that we would boat and hang out at the beach with every weekend. It was the best!
Troy and Danielle initially said they weren’t sure that they were the right couple to model for me, but once we had were settled on the boat with some wine, they were relaxed and having fun together in a familiar environment. They didn’t take themselves too seriously and those are my favorite kind of people to work with!
They had fun laughing and exploring throughout the session. They hugged trees, crashed a stranger’s very smoky bonfire, took turns modeling a captain’s hat and looked amazing through it all.
They even decided to end the adventure session by jumping off the top of their boat into the middle of the river while I captured it from their jet ski with the help of Troy’s brother Tony. How cool is that?!

[…] eagerly waited for Troy to pop the question, especially after I had them model for me in this engagement adventure session in July 2016. However, Troy had something a little more interesting in mind! His family took a trip […]
