“You made some good lemonade out of all of the lemons life has given you.”
One of Dave’s brothers and best men said this during the ceremony. Through all of the twists and turns of 2020 and the many different variations of wedding plans, Dave and Katie planned a gorgeous celebration of their relationship.
They had an intimate, garden ceremony with their closest friends and family and live streamed the event to everyone they were planning on having attend their original wedding.
As a nurse and a firefighter, you’ll see their personalities all over their wedding day. I love when couples make the day unique to them!
Dave had a unique twist planned for the first look. The original engagement ring that he got for Katie was missing so he surprised her with a new one during the first look. She was so excited!
He even made sure I had it during the morning while Katie got ready so it could be included in all of the detail shots. So thoughtful!
It’s no secret that I’ve always loved small ceremonies- they are so personal and intimate and that was especially true of this ceremony. They had their dog Lily walk with the ring bearers and flower girls which is always a win. She was a champ!
Dave & Katie incorporated aspects of a traditional reception into their ceremony since they didn’t get to have the big reception they originally planned. Their siblings shared super sweet and emotional speeches in lieu of doing readings. They also ended the ceremony with a first dance and epic dip kiss.
I love these excited “just married” faces!
Dave’s lieutenant from the fire house brought a vintage fire truck to the wedding for photos and even had it all decorated for the wedding. And the coolest part?! They got to ride in the back of it to their dinner following the ceremony!
They literally got to ride off together into the sunset on the back of this fire truck as a brand new husband and wife!
Thanks for letting us tag along and capture your awesome wedding day, Dave & Katie!
