Bryan and Maria love to spend their time together camping, hiking and adventuring around Duluth. They did this for years together as friends before realizing there was more to their relationship. The best relationships have a strong friendship base so Bryan and Maria are off to a good start! Bryan proposed to Maria in […]
2018 Adventure Sessions were full of hiking, puppies, breweries and even a mud fight! Don’t take engagement photos that look like everyone else’s. Bring your unique relationship into the session and treat your session like a date night. Do something you love together and the photos will be way more authentic!
Thanks so much to all of our amazing 2018 Lumos Couples for inviting us into your day and letting us celebrate with you, including the couples not pictured here!
2018 was a landmark year with the most weddings and adventure sessions ever for Lumos Images! We met amazing couples who wrote their own vows, incorporated unique traditions, and spent their wedding days laughing even in the face of mishaps. Thanks to all of these Lumos Couples who shared their days with us! Some of […]
Relax and let this moment sink in Did you expect this list to start with a list of things to frantically do to start planning the “perfect” wedding? Nope! This is a BIG moment. Let it sink in. You get to spend the rest of your life with your best friend! You don’t have to […]
The cold air washed over them under the grey sky that blanketed the city. As they walked over to the rock that sat on the bluff overlooking Duluth, they threw their arms in the air in celebration and exclaimed, “We’re king of the world!” The joy was starting to soak in. It had finally happened. […]
My tires crunched over the gravel road as I pulled up to the picturesque white house on top of the hill at the end of the dirt road. As I pulled into the driveway, I saw a painted sign reading “Domjahn Farms” on one of the buildings. As I opened the car door in front […]
With the hazy sun setting, the waves crashing on the shore and boaters cruising past, Nick and Logan said their vows at the cabin they have been restoring together all summer. Their intimate, lakeside wedding had a casual, relaxed vibe and amazing food thanks to Quince Catering. My favorite kind of wedding! Since they invited […]
The wet, shivering masses of people crowded into the cramped gift shop, trying to find warmer clothing to buy and waiting out the storm so they could get back to the trails. 3,000 feet below us was the spot where Tony proposed to Becca and she happily said yes to spending the rest of her […]
The music’s pumping, windows down, hair billowing in the wind, gas station snacks in the passenger seat. Driving a route that is so familiar they don’t even have to think about it. Road trips can definitely be fun, but 5 hours in the car isn’t a short amount of time. A five hour drive twice […]
Light rain drizzled over the mountains into the forest making the green trees pop beautifully against the blue silhouettes of the mountains. The raindrops softly hit the wooden deck as the sounds of a saw cutting through a log echoed throughout the quiet valley. Asher and Melanie’s closest family and friends sat on the wooden […]
What perks are there to eloping or having an intimate wedding rather than going the traditional route? When I speak with couples considering an elopement or intimate wedding, they’re all saying the same thing: They’re looking for a small, simple ceremony that isn’t going to cost an immense amount. But they’re still wanting their […]
The sun was shining brightly through the clear blue sky making Cinco de Mayo feel more like a hot summer day than May. Cold beers were popped, hay whipped around the fresh, country air, as the tractor carried Cynthia and Mikey down the farmland road with their wedding party. From the duck habitat centerpieces, […]
Everything about Max and Patra’s stunning August wedding at Golden Oak Farm was amazing! They were more focused on family, their commitment to each other and having a great time with their guests than details like rings and flowers. They actually overlooked getting Max a ring before the ceremony which his mom officiating the ceremony […]
Your dogs are a huge part of your life and family. They’re your baby and you take them with you hiking and on camping trips and all of your adventures. Why would you want to leave them behind on your wedding day? It can be difficult to know which parts of the day to include […]
Jake and Sara got cozy at their new home and then ventured out into the rain for a hike around Afton State Park.
Max and Patra are amazing. Seriously. They are fun, free-spirited, joyful and so incredibly in love- all of the things that I love most about my Lumos Couples.
Larry and Ashley spent a gorgeous summer day at Voyageur Environmental Center in Mound, MN starting their marriage adventure.
Despite the twists and turns, Chris and Christie’s wedding day was one of my favorites of the summer. They got married on their friend’s polo ranch in Watertown. It was one of my favorite venues I’ve ever shot at,
Tim & Katie graciously modeled for me for an adventure session. They have been married for a couple years now and their joy and love is contagious. They love camping, hiking and the outdoors so we made that the theme of the session. Enjoy!
The hallways are crowded- full of energetic preteens navigating new friendships, crushes, homework, body odor and all of the awkward goodness that comes along with middle school. This is where David and Linnea met on October 1, 2002 and struck up a friendship.
I looked longingly out my office window at the blue sky and the white passing clouds wanting nothing more than be outside in the sunshine. I tried not to pay too much attention to the clock that was taking forever to hit 6. The time when I would be out on the river with my camera adventuring with an awesome couple.
Mitch and Becca met in September two years ago at Becca’s uncle’s party. Mitch is friends with Becca’s uncle who informed him that he had an awesome niece who liked guns and has a lot in common with Mitch. Without thinking much of it and certainly not planning on meeting his future wife and her […]
Karl & Wren threw fistfuls of snow at each other, and ran around frolicking in the 18 inches of fresh powder. Their pup Cory joined in the fun too, chasing and eating every snowball that flew through the air. I have never seen a dog get so excited about snow!!! After we were all pretty […]
The music started up and Carla started down the tree-lined trail as everyone turned to look at her. When she made it to the end of the path, her grandparents were waiting for her there and stood up to embrace her. They were all smiles and happy tears! Carla stood between them linking arms, […]
Josh & Anna chose not see each other before their ceremony. Instead, we found a secluded corner of the venue and they prayed together around the corner from each other. Tears were flowing from them and the photo and video team. It was such a tender moment! When it was finally time for Anna’s big […]
After photographing and attending more weddings than I can count over my lifetime, I can confidently say I’ve figured out what makes the best wedding. It’s not the amount of money that goes into the day. It’s not the size of the wedding party or the trendiest dress or reception venue. It’s not the weddings […]
